Berkeley United in Literacy Development (BUILD) is one of the largest reading programs in the East Bay, serving over 300 students throughout the year. Our summer mentors provide academic support to elementary school students in Berkeley and Oakland, with dates ranging from early July through mid-August. Some opportunities may be available in June for units and volunteer mentors. Mentors collaborate closely with site staff to provide academic mentoring to students through one-to-one and small group activities.

The Cognitive Science Program is pleased to announce the new summer-only minor/certificate: Cognitive Science and the Future of Tech. This program explores how technology shapes learning, decision-making and creativity. Perfect for those interested in AI, UX, medicine or business, it equips students with the skills to navigate the evolving relationship between mind and machine.

Summer Experience Housing provides flexible, comfortable and convenient accommodations perfect for students, interns and professionals. Whether you’re doing an internship, attending a conference, conducting research or participating in UC Berkeley programs, our housing places you close to everything: campus, BART, and Berkeley’s dynamic neighborhoods and restaurants.

We are offering a variety of in-person courses this summer including CHEM 1A (General Chemistry), 1AL (General Chemistry Lab), 3A (Organic Chemistry I), 3AL (Organic Chemistry I Lab), 3B (Organic Chemistry II), 3BL (Organic Chemistry Lab II), 32 (Prep for General Chemistry) and 115 (Organic Chemistry—Advanced Laboratory Methods). We also have stockroom student assistant positions that are ideal for those looking to gain experience handling chemicals, maintaining equipment and working in a laboratory environment, and Chemistry TA/uGSI positions for all offered courses.
