The College of Environmental Design offers several introductory summer programs—open to both UC Berkeley and non-UC Berkeley participants—for those interested in exploring the fields of architecture, landscape architecture and environmental planning, urban design and sustainable city planning. Programs are available for high school and current college students, as well as post-baccalaureate applicants.

Berkeley Summer Electrochemistry Academy

The Berkeley Center for Electrochemistry in Science, Engineering and Technology is hosting the Berkeley Summer Electrochemistry Academy. Senior undergraduate and graduate students will learn the electrochemistry fundamentals needed to then tackle electrochemical device engineering, spanning reactors, energy storage and energy conversion technologies. Berkeley Center for New Media's Certificate in Global Digital Infrastructure

This is the first undergraduate program on the technical, economic, legal, environmental and social dimensions of global internet infrastructure, including data centers and subsea cables. No prior experience required. Students from all disciplines welcome. Meet experts across the data center and subsea cable industries, and learn about the impacts of AI, climate change and geopolitics on the global internet.

The Department of German offers a small number of Reading and Composition (R&C) classes online! German R5B offers a survey of modern German literary, cultural and intellectual currents, as well as an introduction to argumentation and analysis. Students will examine numerous issues and questions central to defining the complexity of modern German culture. This course satisfies the second half of the R&C requirement.

Berkeley Summer Sessions

UC Berkeley Summer Sessions offers more than 600 courses in over 80 academic disciplines and is an ideal way to speed up the progress of your academic career. Sessions are three, six, eight, ten or 12 weeks in length, and classes start as early as May or as late as July. All courses carry regular academic credit and will be recorded on your Berkeley transcript.
