Application Requirements
UC Berkeley students do not need to submit an application and can enroll in Summer Sessions courses via CalCentral.
- Newly admitted Freshman and Transfer students must opt-in to the Freshman Edge or Transfer Edge program in order to enroll.
- Newly admitted Fall Graduate Students must apply as a Visiting Student.
Non-UC Berkeley student eligibility:
- Must be 18 years of age or older by the start of your courses.
- Non-U.S. citizens must meet the minimum English Language Proficiency Requirement.
- Must complete the Summer Sessions application for access to enroll in summer courses.
- All applicants must confirm their identity via a secure, automated Identity Verification process and pay an application fee.
High school students who are 16 and 17 years old are eligible to apply via our Pre-College Scholars program. Please do not complete the general Summer Sessions application.
High school students who are 18 years old or older must apply as a Visiting Student.
