No prior experience required. Students from all disciplines welcome. Berkeley Summer Sessions

UC Berkeley Summer Sessions offers more than 600 courses in over 80 academic disciplines and is an ideal way to speed up the progress of your academic career. Sessions are three, six, eight, ten or 12 weeks in length, and classes start as early as May or as late as July. All courses carry regular academic credit and will be recorded on your Berkeley transcript.

Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS)

Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS) offers engaging summer courses in acting, design, public speaking, and performance studies. Students have the opportunity to earn a three-course summer certificate for Performance & Culture in the United States. The certificate program allows students to deepen their U.S. cultural literacy and intercultural communication skills while learning how performance intersects with media and society. Students are welcome to enroll in TDPS summer courses without completing the certificate.

SCET / Summer Venture Lab

Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET)’s Summer Venture Lab program (May 27–July 3, 2025) provides student founders the opportunity to take their new venture project or research one step closer to market. Utilizing the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship, the curriculum provides best practices along with an emphasis on leadership, mindset and networking, in one of the most robust entrepreneurial ecosystems in the world.

We offer Gender and Women's Studies and African American Studies summer courses. We also have a joint summer Race and the Law minor in African American Studies and Ethnic Studies, as well as a summer abroad opportunity in Ghana. We will be available for major advising and academic support.
