Study Abroad

The UC Education Abroad Program offers over 160 UC-approved programs with UC credit, grades, financial aid and scholarships. Over 50 UCEAP programs are available during the summer ranging from Korea to South Africa to Brazil. Students can explore new cultures, gain valuable research, internship, and professional experience, become globally conscious, and transform their lives, UC, and the world.

The Department of Spanish & Portuguese offers a variety of lower and upper division classes online at Cal. We will also lead two study abroad programs in Madrid, Spain and Puebla, Mexico.

The French Department offers courses on campus and online as well as opportunities in Paris, including Berkeley Study Abroad: French Language, Culture and History and Summer Global Internship.

Learn how you can pursue the Global Poverty & Practice Minor and have the opportunity to complete a volunteer/internship experience focused on poverty and inequality either locally or abroad. Funding is available to enable students to complete this experience.

Join the Global Entrepreneurship & Innovation program in Segovia, Spain & Porto, Portugal this summer for an intensive, fast-paced program composed of challenge labs. Students work with mentors and other students from around the world to learn about entrepreneurship and create innovative products. Earn the SCET Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Technology while learning from venture capitalists, serial entrepreneurs, and executives from Silicon Valley.

"Summer Abroad programs are Berkeley courses led by Berkeley faculty travelling abroad over a 4-6 week period. Courses may satisfy major and/or college requirements. Program examples include: “Ghana: Pan Afrikan Social Movements: Past, Present and Future” and “Chios, Greece: Mediterranean Nutrition and Food Systems.”

The Berkeley Global Internships program allows you to earn academic credit while also gaining practical, project-based internship experience in a variety of industries in domestic and international locations. All majors and class levels are welcome to apply! Applications for the summer 2025 program will open in December 2024.
