If you are a matriculated UC Berkeley student, attending the current spring semester, and will not graduate before summer, you are a Current UC Berkeley Student.
If you are an incoming freshman for the upcoming fall semester, you are a Newly Admitted UCB Student.
If you are an incoming transfer student for in the upcoming fall, you are a Transfer Student.
If you are a non-immigrant visitor who intends to stay in the US temporarily to take classes, does not have US citizenship or legal permanent resident status, and will apply for a visa, you are a Visiting International Student.
If you are a current student at a University of California campus other than Berkeley, you are a Current UC Student.
If you are a current student at an institution other than UC Berkeley or another University of California campus, you are a Visiting Student from Other US College.
If you will have completed the 10th or 11th grade in the US (but not 12th grade) by the start of summer, you are a High School Student. Please note that you must be 16 years of age by the start of your program in order to attend Summer Sessions.
If you have graduated from high school before the start of summer classes and are not an incoming UC Berkeley freshman, you can attend Summer Sessions as an Independent Student.
If you are a high school graduate who is an employee, teacher, member of the community, or don’t fit into one of the categories above, you are an Independent Student.
