The University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) offers more than 160 study abroad programs. With UCEAP, students have a dedicated support team, earn UC credit and apply their financial aid to their program abroad. Learn how you can pursue the Global Poverty and Practice minor and have the opportunity to complete a volunteer/internship experience focused on poverty and inequality either locally or abroad. Funding is available to enable students to complete this experience.

We offer Gender and Women's Studies and African American Studies summer courses. We also have a joint summer Race and the Law minor in African American Studies and Ethnic Studies, as well as a summer abroad opportunity in Ghana. We will be available for major advising and academic support.

Come explore summer courses in Celtic, Italian, Scandinavian and Slavic! Class topics include Irish literature, Old Norse mythology, Italian ghost stories, Armenian film and literature, Ukrainian culture and more, and fulfill R&C, L&S breadth and major/minor requirements. Summer Abroad programs are UC Berkeley courses led by UC Berkeley faculty travelling abroad over a 4–6 week period. Courses may satisfy major and/or college requirements. Program examples include “Ghana: Pan Afrikan Social Movements: Past, Present and Future” and “Chios, Greece: Mediterranean Nutrition and Food Systems.”

The Berkeley Global Internships program allows you to earn academic credit while also gaining practical, project-based internship experience in a variety of industries in domestic and international locations. All majors and class levels are welcome to apply! Applications for the summer 2025 program opened in December 2024.
