Summer Minors & Certificates

The Developing Child is an interdisciplinary, developmental science minor and certificate program focused on children from the prenatal period to age 8. Integrating research, practice, and policy with problem-solving and implementation skills for the real world, the innovative coursework and practicum will enrich your approach to working with or on behalf of young children. The Summer Minor (UCB students) or Certificate (non-UCB college students) must be completed in one summer.

The Summer Minor in Digital Humanities brings students to the cutting edge of humanities scholarship. Digital Humanities offers you the skills to make your work communicable and relevant in today’s digital world – skills you’ll use as a scholar and as a professional. College Writing Programs offers courses in public speaking, Reading and Composition, English as a Second Language through our Summer English Language Studies Program, creative writing, and a joint minor/certificate with the Graduate School of Education in teaching English in a global context.

The Global Public Health Summer Minor explores health-related issues affecting populations in the United States and worldwide. Courses cover a range of disciplines and methods relevant to promotion and protection of human health, emerging health issues, healthcare systems, and approaches to address problems and intervene. Learn the "language of business"- Accounting, prepare for the CPA exam, and demonstrate your commitment to employers by completing the Berkeley Charter of Professional Accountancy (BCPA) program at UC Berkeley.
