The Department of German offers a small number of Reading and Composition (R&C) classes online! German R5B offers a survey of modern German literary, cultural and intellectual currents, as well as an introduction to argumentation and analysis. Students will examine numerous issues and questions central to defining the complexity of modern German culture. This course satisfies the second half of the R&C requirement.

Berkeley Summer Sessions

UC Berkeley Summer Sessions offers more than 600 courses in over 80 academic disciplines and is an ideal way to speed up the progress of your academic career. Sessions are three, six, eight, ten or 12 weeks in length, and classes start as early as May or as late as July. Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS)

Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS) offers engaging summer courses in acting, design, public speaking, and performance studies. Students have the opportunity to earn a three-course summer certificate for Performance & Culture in the United States. The certificate program allows students to deepen their U.S. cultural literacy and intercultural communication skills while learning how performance intersects with media and society. Students are welcome to enroll in TDPS summer courses without completing the certificate.

School of Information

The I School offers three professional master’s degrees and an academic doctoral degree. Two of our master's programs have a summer start. Our Master of Information Management and Systems (MIMS) program trains students for careers as information professionals and emphasizes small classes and project-based learning. Our Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS) program trains data scientists to manage and analyze the coming onslaught of big data in a unique, high-touch, online degree. Our Master of Information and Cybersecurity (MICS) program prepares cybersecurity leaders with the technical skills and contextual knowledge necessary to develop solutions for complex cybersecurity challenges. Our Ph.D. program equips scholars to develop solutions and shape policies that influence how people seek, use and share information.
