Participate in the Berkeley Summer Internship Program, and choose from a variety of locations in which to do your internship placement. Stay in the Bay Area, or travel as far as Washington DC with the Cal in the Capital Program or New Orleans with the Magnolia Project. The program in Berkeley includes placement in a Bay Area firm (from San Jose to Walnut Creek and Marin), and enrollment in a Berkeley Summer Sessions course of your choice. In New Orleans you will work in the non-profit sector and complete a community based research project. In Washington you may work on Capitol Hill, in a “think tank”, a cabinet department, or an NGO. In all three locations, you will participate in the online Internship course (ISF 187 - Experiential Learning: Organizational Context, Self Reflection, and Professional Development), and receive academic credit on a Berkeley transcript.
Participation in the New Orleans and DC programs is limited to UC Berkeley students. Financial aid is available for these two programs, provided that students enroll in an additional online course for a minimum of six units
This is a great opportunity to gain experience and credit. Find which one of these options works for you, then contact us for more information.
