Do I choose which firm I intern with?
Yes. Summer Sessions will link you with a firm that matches your career interest. If multiple firms offer you an internship, you choose which is the best fit for you.

Do the courses I enroll in have to be related to my internship?
All students participating in the internship program must enroll in the online internship course. You are also required to enroll in an additional course that should be related to your internship track.

Is there a minimum/ maximum amount of courses I have to complete in addition to my internship?
You must enroll in a minimum of 2 courses, the online internship course and an additional course. There is no maximum.

Will I receive transcript notation for my internship?
On your transcript you will receive academic credit for the online internship course, ISF 187, you complete. This credit serves as transcript notation for your internship.

What if I do not pass a course I am enrolled in during my internship?
You will not receive credit for the course.

What's the advantage of attaining an internship through Summer Sessions versus finding one on my own?
Summer Sessions has partnerships with firms that want you! Rather than undergo a mass search on your own, we have already selected upstanding firms that will support your career aspirations. In addition, you will receive comprehensive support that includes one-on-one career advising, prepared-to-work workshops and other placement services.

How much will I get paid?
Internships are non-paid.

Is the internship full-time or part-time?
Internships are part-time to accommodate your Summer Session class schedule.

Can I intern with the same company during the school year?
The internship term ends during the summer. Although, you and your internship provider may agree to extend the term of your internship.

What if I do not get placed in an internship? Does that happen often?
Summer Sessions will match you with as many firms as possible. We cannot guarantee placement in an internship.

What if I do not complete the internship?
All students are required to complete the internship. If you cannot due to extenuating circumstances, consult the internship coordinator and your professor.

Does my internship have to be related to my major?
No

Does Summer Sessions interview me or does a company interview me?
You will participate in interviews with both Summer Sessions and firms.

What academic requirement does the internship credit apply toward?
Students will earn 4 elective credits upon completion of the online internship course.

Am I qualified?
To qualify you must have completed one year of college, currently be enrolled in a degree program or have graduated within the last 12 months and have at least a 2.0 gpa.

Can international students participate?
International students must have completed one year of full time study at a college in the United States in the year immediately preceding the tenure of their internship. If you have not fulfilled this requirement, we regret that you cannot
participate.
