Enjoy San Francisco while studying at one of the world's great universities.
Berkeley Summer Sessions welcomes students from all over the world—about 1,100 of our more than 16,000 students are visitors from outside the U.S. Here is a chance to experience American culture firsthand and to make friends from the U.S. and other countries.
American education differs from that of other countries. In the U.S., you participate in discussions and projects, do library research, write papers, and take exams. Much of the learning takes place in the classroom.
Living on (or near) campus is a big part of the summer experience. In the residence halls or International House you will meet students from Berkeley, from almost every state in the U.S., and from many other countries.
We encourage you to join us, and to spend time visiting California's many scenic attractions. Enrollment is easy, and the experienced Summer Sessions staff is ready to assist you in any way to make your stay at Berkeley productive and enjoyable.
