Program Description
The program allows students to acquire cultural, social and business skills necessary to communicate on a daily basis with the public and professional community in Taiwan. Students will combine language skill acquisition and business practice with a focus on Taiwan's economy and culture. The program is offered in collaboration with the Center for International Chinese Language Program (ICLP) at National Taiwan University (NTU).
Local experts will give classes on topics such as Chinese culture, calligraphy, the arts, including Chinese painting and theater. There will also be lectures given by local experts on Taiwan's history, politics, economics and business topics. Students will learn about Taiwan and related current affairs through field trips, including visits to international companies, tea factories, international banks, government offices, night markets, theater, industrial parks, the National Palace Museum and natural scenic sites.
