Introduce yourself to the cultural history of the Netherlands and Belgium, two contrasting monarchies in the heart of Europe. Using Amsterdam as our starting point and Brussels as our final destination, we will trace important cultural developments from the medieval towns in Flanders over the Dutch "Golden Age" up to the contemporary (multi)cultural and liberal identity of the Low Countries. You will engage with Dutch and Belgian culture through daily field trips to Amsterdam, The Hague, Delft, Rotterdam, Haarlem, Antwerp, Bruges, Brussels, Ghent and many other cities.
