Freshman Summer Session

Orientation

Orientation is an important first step in your success at Cal. Nearly all incoming freshmen participate in a Cal Student Orientation (CalSO). At CalSO, you will receive academic advising and course planning assistance, enroll in your first 10.5 units of fall semester courses, learn about student life and support services, and hear from current students.

Reservations are made online on a first-come, first-served basis. We strongly encourage you to sign up for an early CalSO program that will not conflict with your summer classes. For more information and to sign up, go to CalSO.
