Financial Aid

UC STUDENTS


Eligible Students

Any current students may be eligible for Summer Financial Aid if they have completed the 2008-09 FAFSA by April 15, 2009; have a complete financial aid file; and are enrolled in at least 6 units during the summer.

Entering or returning students must complete the 2009 Summer Financial Aid application & both the 2008-09 & 2009-10 FAFSA by May 15, 2009. You must contact the financial aid office directly to request an application.

Non-eligible Students

Students on the degree list for Spring 2009, foreign students, non-UCB students, blocked & dismissed students, students enrolled in less than 6 units and Berkeley graduates.

Important:

Students who reveived UC grants during the 2008-2009 academic year may be eligible for a Summer Fee Grant to cover their unit costs.

Estimator

UCB Students can check their aid eligibility with the SummerAid Estimator.

VISITING STUDENTS

Visiting students should consult their home institution for information about financial aid for summer study at Berkeley. UC Berkeley can coordinate summer tuition payments from other schools, but does not offer financial aid to visiting students.

WORK STUDY

2009-2010 academic year work-study may be used during the summer beginning June 1, 2009. Students who intend to use their work-study during the summer must have a complete financial aid file and a 2009-2010 Official Offer Letter with work-study listed. Work-study money earned over the summer (beginning June 1st) will be deducted from your 2009-2010 work-study award.
